S. Steven Yang, MD, MPH
Dr. Yang served as Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital-Northwell Health until he was recruited in 2013 to NYU Langone Health and the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (formerly the Hospital for Joint Diseases). He is now a principal of The NYU Hand Center and Director of Clinical Affairs. In addition to a busy clinical practice - performing over 500 surgical procedures a year - Dr. Yang is deeply committed to the medical education of students, residents, and fellows. He is the Director of the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship training program. His research is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at scholarly meetings.
Having expertise in the traumatic injuries of professional athletes, he served as the hand surgery consultant to the New York Jets football team and cares for elite athletes in numerous sports. In addition, he has been the treating surgeon to members of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and smaller ensembles and soloists as well as instructors and students of The Julliard School and the Manhattan School of Music.
Dr. Yang hosts a radio show on Sirius XM Doctor Radio (channel 110), the Orthopedics Show, which focuses on a variety of different orthopedic conditions.
